Released in time for April Fool’s Day 2018, Downtown Buena Vista is buzzing with excitement over local artist Mark Cline’s latest installation. More than a dozen giant cartoon bugs provide a fun ornament to the rooftops of BV’s downtown buildings.
“I’ve just always loved the city and the people there have always been good to me,” Cline said of Buena Vista.
The city partnered with the Buena Vista Arts Council to support bringing the exhibit downtown. SVU students also assisted with the installation, which took approximately six hours to complete. The bugs will be in place for at least a month, bringing a lighthearted “buzz” to downtown Buena Vista. Be sure to visit them before they fly away!
“I saw an opportunity to have some fun and boost some positive energy into the downtown that would perhaps force people to see things a new light, spur their imaginations and maybe inspire them to do new things.”
