The City of Buena Vista, Virginia is seeking an intern to begin immediately to assist with a variety of projects based at City Hall.
Projects and tasks include:
- City website updates
- Phone system account research, record keeping, and planning for VOIP transition
- Assistance with public relations projects
- Filing and administrative projects
- Community Development and Economic Development special projects
Term: 8 weeks during Summer 2019
Hours: Minimum total work hours in term 50, maximum is 100. Will set schedule with intern for between 6-12 hours per week, during normal business hours.
Compensation: Term hour total 50-75 stipend of $500; Term hour total 75-100 stipend of $650.

The City of Buena Vista is seeking seasonal workers for both the Streets Division and Building and Grounds Division of Public Works. Candidates must have a VA Drivers license and pass City drug test. Skills needed for include handling small tools, weed eaters, trimmers, push mowers, riding mowers, shovels, rakes etc. These positions primarily report to the Streets Supervisor and will assist in trimming and mowing right-of-ways and City property and other work associated with Street upkeep. One position reports to the Building & Grounds Supervisor for cleaning Park bathrooms during afternoon, evening and weekends.
